Cocktail of the Week - Smoke & Mirrors

2 shots of Lagavulin 16-year-old malt whiskey or Balvenie 15-year-old Scotch
3/4 of a shot of apricot brandy liqueur
1/4 shot Averna Amaro
A dash of Angostura Aromatic Bitters

OR

2 oz. bourbon (Black Maple Hill)
1 oz. Meletti Amaro
.5 oz. scotch (Isle of Jura Superstition)
2 dashes Bittermen's Xocolatl Mole Bitters

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with wide swath of flamed orange peel.

Both of these cocktails add just a whiff of the decadent to whiskey, scotch & bourbon, situating them beneath the streets where blue & green lights bubble up from after-hours clubs through glass bricks in the sidewalk & away from the grime of Wall Street & sodden, louche LA pulp writers. They provide the feeling that you're drinking something concocted by opium addicts in kimonos as a 3 a.m. twist on utter forlorn dissipation. Enjoy & HAIL SATAN!
